Young heroes shelter 90 students behind kevlar on school’s target range in Florida Shooting

There are a number of facts coming to light about this horrific event that need to be shared.

As reported in several sources, LINK, LINK, LINK, JROTC cadets including Peter Wang took kevlar sheets used for their marksmanship practice at the school’s target range and attempted to shield 60-90 students from the gunfire. Peter was last seen holding doors open to allow students and staff to flee to safety. The logical conclusion is that he died standing his self-assigned post.

This is a petition at Whitehouse.Gov to bury cadet Wang with full military honors.

There is more to this story however. Junior Colton Haab, a second lieutenant and platoon leader in the school’s JROTC, was one of those who helped shelter the students on the range. He informed the Associated press about this, but because it does not fit the anti gun narrative, it is not really being talked about. The Chicago Tribune has an article HERE that covers that and more.

In an era where personal responsibility, selflessness and other such virtues are less common, clearly there are still people out there who espouse them in how they live their lives.

Now for the other side of the story. As it turns out, the shooter had been on the JROTC squad as well, and was even wearing his JROTC shirt when he went on his killing spree. Amongst the many ignored warnings apparently was an email sent out by the school to teachers telling them not to let Cruz on site if carrying a backpack after bullets were found in his bag. Story HERE.

This appears to have both a Yin and a Yang. Someone who was mentally unstable had trained with the military’s junior training program, gathering skills that he used to kill and injure innocent people. JROTC was formed in 1916 with the passage of the national defense act to prepare male teenagers for military service. Conversely some students used the discipline learned or refined (we are sure a lot of this came from their home environments) in the same program to step up and save lives, with one giving his own in the process.

This incident should raise many serious questions, and while many are focused on gun control, others on the failures of the FBI to investigate multiple warnings, the failures of local law enforcement to act on the 39 calls to 911 or other known warning signs that seemed to be plentiful, we felt it important to address this aspect as it is not being discussed much, as clearly the national news organs have this information but are controlling the narrative to suit their political agenda.
